Let me start off by saying, I’m definitely not THE BEST at this whole decorating thing! However, I love to try, I love to create and I love to change our dining room table and decor around our home every season, holiday & special occasion! I’m learning each time I re-do it & welcome suggestions, feedback, etc. Especially if you ARE a professional decorator!
It didn’t take much to create our Fall Tablescape… I LOVE glass in my dining room. The light shining through, the crystal clear beauty, the shapes and sizes; I love it. So each season, I arrange a new payout of all the glass pieces we own. I change whats inside and around the glass. For this tablescape, the boys and I headed to a few of my favorite stores and found: 2-3 boxes of Acorns, clay pots in 2 different sizes, a table runner, fall leaves, pretty candle holders, glass acorns, candlesticks & fall napkins. (Table Runner-TJ Maxx, Fall Napkins & candlesticks- Pottery Barn, Acorns, Clay Pots, other candle holds, fall leaves and glass acorns-Michaels)
When the season ends, I store the Tablescape items in a clear plastic bin. So, I cleared the room of our Spring/Summer Decor-
AND THEN…. I laid my table runner in the center of the table and put wooden chargers at each seat. I folded the fall napkins and placed them on top of each of the chargers. I then arranged all of my glass pieces throughout the table & put little clay pots and candle holders in the mix of it all too!
I filled the glass pieces with rocks, acorns, potpourri, glass acorns & mini pine-cones (all from Michaels). In the center glass piece, I put the fall leaves from Michaels. Then I streamed through a ‘fall’ ummm….runner? Long beaded strand? See, I don’t even know what its called–? Someone can comment below and help me out! HAHA-I liked it and bought it and this is what I did with it
After the table was complete, I added other ‘fall’ items around our home. I found a basket laying around and filled it with- ARE YOU READY? Paper towels! Then at the top, I put acorns
Who would ever know whats below the top layer?
To our entry table, I added the color ‘orange’ to the vase on the left, wine corks and candles to the hurricanes, a fall candle (from Anthropologie), basket below for magazines, etc. and fall colored candles around the mirror.
A friend once taught me about putting lots of different ‘textures’ in your room. I learned so much from her!!
Wine corks fill these glass hurricanes & I added a candle to each…
and a simple Fall wreath on the front door…
I have to tell you, the boys LOVE to watch me decorate for each season and holiday. We talk about fall colors, all of the items around our home, foods that we can make in the fall, activities we can do and why we LOVE the fall! Its personally my favorite season of all! So much that excites me
I hope I’ve inspired you to add a little ‘FALL’ to your home this season too!

GREAT post! Fall is also my favorite time of year!! Maybe that fall piece you “streamed” through was a fall garland of sorts?
Just a guess. Love your decorating! Makes me wanna go out and start. It’s still close to 100 degrees here in Tennessee. The cooler weather doesn’t officially start till probably another few weeks… I will live through you until then.

Angelique~ As much as I LOVE fall and decorating for it, I was really trying to hold off this year b/c I haven’t had to deal with a northern winter for 10 years and I’m nervous! And of course with fall comes winter. However, your house is GORGEOUS and so inspiring. So now I’m out updating my fall decorations. Thanks for posting these pictures!
YAY Holly! My goal was reached
