The boys and I have been spending our days outside in the sun & water and it feels so good.  For some reason, they have no desire to wear clothes when we’re home (?why?), but it makes for a lot of giggles watching their skinny little legs run around in super-hero undies!  I can’t seem to keep bathing suits or clothes on them so its a rare occasion that I post a picture!  (You must think I’m kid-less most of the time, don’t you? NOT SO!)  Our blow-up pool popped so we ran to KMart one night after Brian got home from work.  The boys ran through the store taking everything off of the shelves, “wanting” and “needing” squirt bottles, candy, pirate ships and bubbles, and we drove home with a $14.99 round plastic pool in our trunk and 2 excited boys!  It was the best $14.99 we’ve spent on summer fun in 4 years!

The next morning, they splashed in their new pool for just a few minutes before Rocco came up with the idea to put the foot of the slide in the water!  They go circles around each other for hours… up the steps, down the slide, splash in the pool, repeat!  I found my place under a tree but most of the time, I’m shouting at Roman to “sit down and slide!” Its not smart.

Last week, before I could shout, “Sit down!”, he jumped from the top of the slide to the ground and couldn’t get up.  I was petrified.  When he tried to stand, he fell and said, “Mommy, I can’t walk!”.  I took him to Urgent Care and thankfully, after a handful of X-Rays, it was just a sprain.  Unreal.  They gave the kid a handful of stickers and he walked around telling everyone, “I jump off the slide! Dr. said, ‘No do that. (Don’t do that.) NO!’… I a big boy; I not get hurt!”  He thinks he’s invincible.  I thought he learned his lesson when he limped over to the sun-room couch upon returning home, until I started dinner… I blinked a couple of times and then watched him climb right up onto the arm of the couch and… JUMP!  Sprained ankle and all!  Unbelievable.  “I ok!” he said as he limped to the family room and quietly watched Jake & the Pirates.

Life is sweet and simple right now – simple can be challenging for me but I’m enjoying the mundane!  The changing of underwear all day long just to try out a new pair, the desire to wear summer pj’s around the house, the anticipation of a lawn mower turning on so the boys can sit and watch… Its a fun & peaceful stage!

Our family vacation is this month and I couldn’t be more excited & ready for some time away! Wonder what else is in store for June?
