Roman’s 1st Day of Pre-School

Well, today was Roman’s first day of pre-school.  Of course his teacher told me that one would never even know it was his first day away from home all by himself in pre-school!!!  Child #2=SOOO DIFFERENT!  I knew he wouldn’t flinch.  He washed his hands, went straight for the sand table, kissed me goodbye and didn’t move an inch when I left the room.  Oh yes, its safe to say I kind of wanted him to scream, call for me, come running after me crying.  I’m crazy, right?  Rocco did all of that last year and even though I knew that Roman wouldn’t, there was a part of me that wondered, maybe, just maybe he would.  He didn’t!

So let me rewind.  When it was time to get dressed this morning, Roman picked out the clothes he wanted to wear.  Fall clothes that consisted of jeans and a black, long sleeve, thermal shirt.  He had to wear it. The kid is so picky about what he wears and when I checked the temp and saw it would be 74 degrees, I tried to reason but there was no reasoning.  I couldn’t send him to school with tears so I threw a summer T in his book bag and told the teachers it was in there if he got hot.  I tried to snap a few pictures before it was time to leave but I didn’t get much out of my little monkey…  Just 4 shots of Roman being Roman!

and when Rocco joined in, I got it… my 2 little loves, smiling in one picture!

(Thank God they are getting hair-cuts this weekend; they really need it BAD.)

They boys informed me that they saw each other outside on the playground and played together in the sandbox the whole time!  I was so happy for them until I thought, “I’m paying for them to play together?”  I asked if they made any new friends and Roman said that he made friends with another little boy while Rocco enjoyed the girls (as always)!  Roman is such a guy’s guy and Rocco is intrigued by little girls; its funny!  Hence why Rocco will tell you there is a girl in my belly while Roman shouts, ‘NO! It’s a boy!’  Someone won’t be happy when the news is out ; )

They ate me out of house and home when pre-school was over.  From cheese sticks to yogurt, hot dogs and chicken nuggets, even left over noodles; I couldn’t keep up!  And when I finally made myself a little sandwich with turkey and tomato, they ate half of it.  I’m in for it!  Roman was so excited to tell me about his morning; I could tell Rocco was a little jealous that for once, his brother had so much to talk about and I was focusing on it all.  He kept interrupting Roman and trying to tell him to stop talking.  I gave them both turns to tell me about their morning… it was a sweet lunch conversation!  They had a lot to say.

So our 1st week of pre-school is over, we survived and now Brian and I are off to NYC to celebrate our 7 year anniversary, without the boys!  I feel like that’s our little home away from home; we go every year but have never been there in September… I’m SO excited!  If you don’t follow me on FB or Twitter, now’s the time!  I’ll be keeping in touch this weekend on FB and also, STAY TUNED!  I have a GREAT GIVEAWAY for you coming SOON!

Have a fantastic weekend friends!
