Our Fall Weekend + 101 Things to do this Fall

We took the boys to the WVU football game this past Saturday.  Honestly, I wasn’t thrilled about going.  The clouds were dark, it was a cold Saturday morning, my back started hurting an hour after I woke and all I could think of was how it was such a great day for a little ‘ME time’.  Pedicure… TJ Maxx (maybe even Anthropologie)… lunch with a friend… I committed to the football game; hubby wanted me to go.  I mean, it goes without saying, I LOVE family time, but with the way the clouds looked, I pictured the 4 of us soaking wet in the stands and suddenly my eyes drooped.  “Can you call your dad?  Have a BOY DAY?  Father/Son day?  Call a friend?”  Nope.  I was going… That was that.  I didn’t even bother to shower and do my hair since I had a bad feeling we’d be drenched by noon.

We made our usual Saturday morning Starbucks run before getting on the highway and its just crazy, but I’m not into coffee this pregnancy!  I know!  Its crazy.  Really Crazy.  When Brian drove through, he looked at me for my order and all I could say was, “Ice Water.”  I ordered ICE WATER.  at STARBUCKS.  on a Fall Saturday morning.  The boys kept telling us during our drive that a tornado was coming… it was so dark but it turned out to be decent when when we arrived…

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

(PS. We were rained on during the game… multiple times.  Thankfully we had adult size ponchos for our almost 3 year old and 4 year old.  No sarcasm here; just tellin’ it like it is.)

We trekked out to La-Z-Boy Monroeville on Saturday night.  I wrote about our shopping trip here and we had a successful evening out with the boys!

On Sunday we took a trip to Trax Farms in Finleyville, PA.  This is hands down, my favorite time of year and I love our annual farm trips!  Everyone had a blast and the boys were so sweet and smiley the entire time; ahhh it was such a great morning!

We picked mums & the boys were really into it.  For real.  They were so serious during their search for the perfect potted mums!  Look at the eyes…

They picked the most perfect pumpkins… & each had to get 1 for our little peanut too ; )

And this year, the farm added a little play-ground too with a tire swing, climbing wall and a couple of slides!  They had a blast and before we knew it, it was time for lunch and naps!

While the boys were napping, I baked my first homemade Apple Pie!  It turned out beautifully and instead of a dough crust top, I opted for a crumble topping with brown sugar, cinnamon, oats, etc. (I’ll post the recipe soon!)  Keep your eyes open for our BIG October Giveaway – ‘My Fall Favorites’!  This dish is one of the items we’re giving away… by Pampered Chef!  I’m in love!

And before I say, “TTYS!”; if you’re looking for fun things to do this Fall, my friend Sarah found this list from another blogger, Melanie and I really LIKE it too; especially #50- ‘Bob for Apples’!  I can’t tell you the last time I’ve done that but its about time and I know the boys would have a blast with that experience!  Check out her list…
