Today Rocco told me that his pre-school really hurt his arm. Alarmed, I asked, “What!?!”… “How!?!” His response as he whimpered and held his left arm? “They made me pick up a lot of toys.” The kid just makes me laugh… and roll my eyes… And yesterday? Yesterday he told me that his ears get loose. “WHAT?” I asked. His response to that one? “You’re losing your head and my ears are getting loose.” Here’s what I came up with: When I do something stupid (which is often) I say, “*sigh* I’m losing my head.” I realized that Rocco wanted his own little saying. So now, when he does something silly that he didn’t mean to do, that’s what he says… “*sigh* My ears are getting loose.” oooK.
And then there was Roman’s bedroom post… You know, this one. Well, Rocco was jealous. He understands what I do here on this blog and he was totally upset that I wasn’t showing off his room to all of you too. Feeling guilty, we took my camera up to his bedroom, made his bed, cleaned up a bit and he loved watching me photograph the details of his room. In fact, he pretty much bossed me around the whole time; it was cute. Then, he sat with me on the computer while I put the photo collages together! This is my first born.
So for all of you moms of boys out there, here’s another BOY ROOM IDEA for your little guy! I had a blast creating Rocco’s Car Bedroom last March for his 4th birthday!

The best part about Rocco’s room is the wall behind his bed! It’s CHALKBOARD PAINT! The boys as well as Brian and I have had a blast drawing and creating fun pictures on it! And its also been great for Rocco to have during the transition phase from napping to no napping. I still give him have ‘quiet time’ and drawing has been one of the things he does during that time (if he’s not sleeping)! I highly recommend chalkboard paint for any toddler room and/or play room!
Thanks for looking at Rocco’s Car Bedroom; he’s really excited that I shared it with you!

Great posts on the boys rooms!! You have great decorating tips!
I was wondering about putting the boys in a double bed as aposed to a twin….did you have them in a toddler bed after their cribs?
Just wondering, we are also expecting baby #2, end of March and Orlando will be 2 1/2 then and we wanted to just keep the nursery the nursery and move Orlando into our spare room which has a double bed in there now.
Just wondering how you did it with your boys.
Love your blog Angelique!!

Thanks for the sweet compliments Leslie and CONGRATS on Baby #2!!! So honestly, we never did the ‘toddler bed’ thing and Brian felt that buying a twin was a waste of money. The crib we have is a convertible crib that both have used (currently in Roman’s room) and when Roman was born, he got that set and we bought the bedroom set you see for Rocco. We put bed rails on both sides of it until he didn’t need them anymore (then we passed them to Roman). With Roman, we went straight from a crib to the full bed with Rocco’s ‘old’ rails and it all seemed to worked for us with no problems! The new baby will get a new crib that has been passed down from my sister-in-law… it all just works; you’ll see
Good Luck in your decision making but I’d say go straight to a big boy bed that he’ll have for many years and buy some rails!
